Zone Focus: is focusing on a particular point or area in whatever you are shooting. If i was shooting a basketball game maybe i would focus on the three point line.
Shutter Speed: depending on how fast the action is, my shutter speed should be fit to capture all the action. During a b-ball game i would have my shutter speed up high because it is a fast paced game and i want to make the action look as if it is frozen.
Panning: to eliminate blurring i could follow the object with my camera.
